ALFA CarTitle of the Sub-Project: Further development of an alternative family car by computer simulation-based endurance tests - ALFA Car Description: The aim of ALFA Car-project is to test and improve the drafts of a new Hungarian car which is a possible environment-friendly alternative to contemporary cars. The blueprints of a vehicle working with renewable energy sources were prepared in the framework of the project "Designing the first Hungarian alternative family car" (NYDRFÜ). This development took place in the Hungarian Region of West Pannonia under participance of ANTRO Kht (H) which is the lead participant of this project. Before constructing the functioning prototype (planned EU pilot project), endurance testing by computer simulation is needed to reach the static, rigidity and collision parameters that characterise modern cars. This is the special competence of the second partner, the VDC - Virtual Dimension Center in the Stuttgart Region (D). The computer simulations shall enhance the successful accomplishment of the concept. The simulations will be conducted by Hungarian actors using the knowledge of VDC. That way, desired parameters can be reached in spite of the low weight, construction problems are revealed before assembling the prototype, modifications can be analysed virtually and the development can be fast and cost-effective. Moreover, important knowledge transfer will take place between computer simulations experts. In a number of workshops special expertise will be unified to promote the development of ALFA Car. Conforming to the Regins goals, inter-regional cooperation between these two partners unifies their experiences and competences resulting from the different positions of the regions, inducing know-how transfer. This may contibute to the discovery of optimal solutions in the car development process. The diffusion of project results will be ensured by meetings and workshops organised in both regions, presentations in joint conferences and publications.
