CATIATitle of the Sub-Project: Transfer and introduction of up-to-date Automotive Development methodologies in the West-Pannon Region - CATIA Description: In the context of the CATIA project, two engineering schools from West Pannon Region and Stuttgart Region are planning to further deepen an inter-regional partnership. The primary aim of this project is to find out the requirements of the automotive industries to offspring engineers. This will be helpful for professional engineering schools in both partner regions. Both schools are impart their students knowledge of the engineering software CATIA and thus especially focus on a better teaching of this software. Within the project, the lecturers of the Jedlik Ányos Secondary Technical School (West Pannon) shall gain better competences in teaching important software skills. This shall be achieved by a visit at and a close cooperation with the Gottlieb-Daimler-School (Stuttgart Region). Moreover, the partner schools plan to involve industrial partners to identify market requirements for engineers. On the basis of this information the syllabus of both schools shall be improved and adapted to the market requirements. Furthermore, the teachers of both schools are going to acquire software knowledge that will help them to compose course books which are currently missing. That way, other schools in the field of automotive development and design can benefit from the project results and adapt their education as well. This shall contribute to the efforts of West European regions to respond to job shifts into low developed countries. It will help the regions to find new ways of specialisation in high quality production. This project helps to pursuit the overall goals of Regins. within the know-how-transfer section. Through the relationship between the Stuttgart and the West Pannon regions, it insures the know-how transfer in automotive industry. The practice-focused education assures the instant usability of acquired knowledge in the industry. Publication of the collected information both in electronic and printed sources is also an important part of the project and helps to disseminate the project results. Integrated in education material, the results of the project will be spread widely.
