REGINSrfidTitle of the Sub-Project: REGINSrfid - Promotion of RFId (Radio Frequency Identification) Description: RFId is a new key technology for logistics to improve the transparency and quality of the logistics supply chain. A smooth and cooperative implementation of the RFId technology is a great challenge for regional and European integrated logistics supply chain participants. Especially SMEs participating in supply chains must be prepared to share this new technology with their suppliers and customers to maintain their region's competitiveness. European cooperation is also compulsory, on the one hand for the international interconnections of the supply chain, on the other hand to solve standardisation and information systems challenges. The sub-project REGINSrfid screens the state of the art and the ongoing development of RFId technology and processes. A guideline and a roadmap (best practices) for the implementation and adaptation of a RFId supply chain will be the results. The special focus is on the needs of SMEs. Technology, processes and information systems will be addressed. The practicability of the guideline / roadmap will be improved by a roll out on a specific supply chain. The development of the roll out is part of the REGINSrfid sub-project. Training and education for RFId is an essential part of the subproject. Four different types are planned: 1. Regional RFId information meetings, esp. for SMEs 2. Regional campaigns RFId / Opposition against new technologies 3. Regional workshops for the concerned fields: forwarding agencies, trading, industrial sector (manufacturing) 4. RFId in university education The results of REGINSrfid will be disseminated via the European Network of Logistics Competence Centres and via net-works of European universities and chambers of commerce. In addition publishing is planned in scientific magazines, in international and domestic scientific conferences.
