K-TASS

Title of the Sub-Project:
Key Technologies of the Automotive Regions Steyr and Stuttgart - K-TASS

Description:
Declining prices and quantities are currently challenging the automobile industry. Fast reactions to upcoming trends with best process- and information technologies have become important preconditions for the survival of companies. Research and development in this domain needs to be concentrated to gain impact. Both Upper Austria and the Stuttgart Region have a high number of specialized SMEs within the automotive domain. K-TASS aims to provide these SMEs a strategic direction to secure their survival within dynamic markets.

The project partners will work out and evaluate a list of key areas with high potential to allow the regions to get a strategic focus. Workshops with key-opinion leaders will be conducted to generate novel measures to secure the survival of automotive SMEs. The results will support relevant decision makers in both regions to make sustainable technology investments. The relevant results will be made available to focussed actors by workshops and automobile shows.

K-TASS contributes to the overall goals of REGINS by promoting interregional cooperation, by enabling exchange of experience by key opinion leaders, by intensive dissemination of results and by fostering partnerships between key academia and industrial partners. Especially joint consultations of experts of both regions combined with a common analysis will contribute to the regional partnership. The final catalogue explaning regional automotive structures and recommendations for both regions will be accessible via internet.
